JEEPING CROSSBAR RANCH IN DAVIS, OKLAHOMA

We aren't the only people who love wheeling in our family. We decided to head to Crossbar Ranch in Davis, Oklahoma for a 3 generation jeep day.

We started the day off meeting up in Ardmore, OK. We had lunch at Swadley's (their chicken fried steak and rolls are stupid good) and got some drinks to go. This is where I got my first duck! #duckduckjeep

We had our 3 jeeps (for those of you interested in the specs, scroll down) and headed into the park. You cross a small creek as you come in and there is plenty of space to stage with your group and air down for the day. They have a small office with a map, which heads up is unreliable and they told us that when we got there, but they have some merch you can buy and this is where you pay for the day.

MOUNTAIN BIKING VS DOWNHILL BIKING

Hey y'all! I'm busy mom and wife. I also have fibromyalgia and other health issues that make exercise and sometimes daily life challenging. My husband has been Mountain Biking for years, but I finally tried it in 2018 and I've been hooked ever since!

I didn't know how amazing downhill was until I surprised my hubby with a trip. I was scared to death, but I knew since he grew up in Alaska snowboarding, he would think riding a lift to go biking would be pretty legit. So, I pushed passed my fears and surprised him with a weekend in Colorado.

CAMPING ON PADRE ISLAND NATIONAL SEASHORE ~ PINS

Hey y'all! We had a blast this year! I'll have a link to the video below. We have been coming to the Island for years and we have learned a few things in the passing of time. I have compiled this packing list that we use for any type of camping, I've been using it over 10 years and it hasn't let me down yet! The boys were fishing, our son was learning to surf, the girls were learning how to drive down the beach in the sand, and we had a simple little camp that gave us just what we needed to enjoy the surf!

COWBOY COFFEE

Hey y'all! Coffee is a big part of our life. I have loved coffee since I was really little, no I didn't have 'coffee milk', I drank the real deal. My parents didn't drink coffee until I was an adult, so I made mine in a percolator. Now, we make coffee many ways depending on our mood.

Cowboy coffee is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a brew. We do a lot of camping, from state parks or BLM camping in the mountains to beach camping on Padre Island. Even when we do have electric, I choose Cowboy Coffee. It makes our camping trip. As you will learn our travel and camping revolves around our menu.

MY FAVORITE COFFEE

So, I'm a little bit of a coffee snob y'all. I'll drink anything because I love coffee, but I have some favorites for sure. Another thing is decaf, I love caffeinated coffee trust me, but I can only drink so much with my fibromyalgia or I will cause myself to be in a lot of pain. My husband needs to drink decaf too, but most decaf out there is so watered down and nasty.

OUR FAVORITE STATE & NATIONAL PARKS

Hey y'all! Today we are gonna go over some of our favorite State Parks and National Parks we have visited and love so much! You can get your National Park Pass for the year for $80. Each state park has a pass of its own, I will list those prices as we talk about each park. We love all kinds of camping and different terrain. We enjoy it when we can incorporate some of our hobbies into a park visit. I'm not listing them in an order of favorites, because we love them all, each has a different place in our heart, so I will list them randomly and tell you what we have found about each location. The kids are gonna throw their prospective in a little too, so hold on to your saddle and let’s ride!

WE BUILT AN EXPEDITION TRAILER

Hey y'all! You guys know how much we like camping and all things outdoors, so we built an expedition trailer! We have done all types of camping, but we needed to up our primitive camping game. Ryan and I don't have the best health even though we are 'younger'. We still want to get out there and mountain bike, hike, off road, fish, and do all the other outdoor things we love, all being off grid. But the tent thing just isn't for us (all the time). We have always had an RV for those trips with family to a lake, etc. and for the volunteer work we have done. The kids were younger and we needed a bunkhouse so the kids could travel with us while we did this, it served it purpose, ya know?

It sold and we are moving on. The girls are driving have moved out. The boys are just behind them and they don't want to be stuck in a typical RV either. So the plan? Build something we can pull with our jeep or truck, enabling us to be off grid but take care of our health so we can get the most out of these memories. So the planning begins!
